Dovetail Snap-In Architecture
At the heart of COVERSCOPE is an integrated dovetail mounting system. A custom dovetail is built directly into the phone case, allowing the snap-in adapter to be quickly attached or removed. The adapter then connects to a matching dovetail integrated into the optic ring, which mounts securely to your spotting scope or binoculars.
This dual-dovetail design creates a simple, secure connection between your phone and optic, making setup fast, reliable, and easy to use in the field.
How the Adapter slides onto the case
Align the adapter with the tab positioned toward the top of the phone. Then, slide the adapter towards the case and up onto the dovetail attached to the phone bump located around the camera until you hear an audible “click,” indicating that it is fully engaged.
In some cases, a final press on the tabbed portion of the adapter may be needed to ensure it is completely seated on the phone case dovetail. Once the adapter is securely attached, installation is complete and you're ready to go.
The adapter is built for repeated use and can be attached and removed thousands of times. This allows the case to function both as a dedicated digiscoping solution and as your everyday phone case, without compromise.
How the Adapter slides into the Optic Ring
Start by firmly pressing the spring-style ring onto the eyecup of your spotting scope or binoculars. Apply even pressure with the palm of your hand and align the logo with the top of the optic.
Next, position the square dovetail so it is aligned with the logo and opening at the top of the spotting scope or binoculars. Press the dovetail straight down until it reaches the recessed pocket. Finish with a firm push until the dovetail snaps securely into place.
Once the dovetail clicks into the recessed pocket, the mount is fully seated and ready for use. No guessing, no adjustments, ready to go.
